This was fun! We visited a Christmas market in a castle close to Aarau. It is a foundation that helps people who need extra care and support by providing housing, apprenticeships, jobs. They had lots of candles, art work, wood work, paper art for sale. All made by the people who stay here. It was very creative and different to all the usual Christmas stuff for sale.
We decorated lebkuchen. There were lots of things to decorate with. We went here ten years ago when I was 4 years old. I remember it from the photos.
Ben had a ride on a little steam train and had a go at making a horse shoe at a forge.
Noah: I liked making a candle. I dipped a piece of string in hot melted wax and then I had to take the string out and let it dry, then do it over and over. I think I dipped it about 50 times. I made mine a rainbow pattern. And Dad made his all blue.

What a beautiful experience once again. I love how everything is natural and real and ‘tasteful’. So creative. Including all your activities, boys. So well done. Love your candle, Noah; and that little horseshoe is amazing, Ben!
And the Lebkuchen!! So good.
Toby… do I see right: Are you as tall as your mother now???
But don’t send me any more photos of you eating pretzels….. just NOT fair!!!
Love you and miss you tons,
Grandma

So cool, Toby, that you remember having been at this place before!
A professional-looking horse shoe you have made, Ben. I wonder what size the horse will need to be for it?!
Beautiful colours on your candle you made, Noah! You’ll have to send us a picture when you light it!
