Adventskranz

Today, at school, we made wreaths to put candles on for advent. People in the community can order them and the school makes a bit of money. There were parents and local people helping too. A local farmer brought lots of tree branches in his tractor trailer and we all had different jobs to do. I had the job of attaching leaves to a straw wreath.

Herbst Markets

In Basel, Switzerland they have this thing called the Herbstmesse. It’s kind of a mix between a market and a fair because there are amusement park rides along with hundreds of stalls selling stuff, like how cool is that! It’s spread over six squares in Basel and has been going for over 500 years! It takes place over two weeks in autumn.

Road trip: City no.3: Prague, Czech Republic

Yesterday we drove from Bratislava to Prague. Our first impression was coming over the hill from the motorway and seeing all the church spires all over the city. It is a huge city. So many red roofs and churches. Some of them looked like haunted houses. (Like the Fortnite haunted hills castle)

Bayern Münich Game

Bayern Münich are my favourite Bundesliga team. We asked my Uncle Florian who lives near to Munich (who is also a big fan) if he could find us some tickets. They are hard to get but he managed to get us some.

Paros, Greece

When we first arrived on Paros (one of the Cyclades islands, like Santorini). I was wondering what our hotel would be like. When I saw it I noticed all the many colours. The building was white but the doors and windows had colours. Like red and blue, green and yellow.

My New Friend

On Wednesday we went to the Goldau Tierpark. It had animals roaming around and it has to be one of the greatest days of my life! Why? Because I made a new friend and she is a deer! The way we became friends was… I walked up to her and put my hand in front of her nose and then she was calm and let me pet her. Another thing she let me do was take selfies with her and she would even pose for them, like how cool is that.

There were some cool forest playgrounds too, animals I’ve never heard of before and ate my first pommes frites for lunch. Delicious!

Day 1: Getting Settled

Ding! Dong! The church bells rang as well as the sheep bells. This is the sound I heard this morning and the sound I will hear for 6 months, which is a good thing. Today was a great day, one of the first things we did was go to the best supermarket ever… Migros! It brought back so many memories such as a drink that my great-grandmother used to give me (Sirup), delicious paprika chips, and most of all, the chocolate! We bought a nut and honey flavour.

After shopping, we relaxed at home, ate a loaf of Swiss bread and cheese for lunch, had some downtime on our devices (I played heaps of Fortnite)

We then went to a castle (Schloss Halwyl). It’s especially old – from 1167. It even had a moat around it, how cool is that!

It was cool texting some of my friends in the morning and catching up with them. So far Switzerland is better than I remember.
