And so it begins…

It’s a grey and sometimes-rainy day. We cleverly waited until the New Zealand winter was over, before heading to the other side of the world for another winter. Once we’re done with that winter, we’ll come back to New Zealand for the next winter. I’m hoping the Europeans have saved us some of their heatwave.

The suitcases are zipped up; we’re all packed and ready. I think.

We don’t fly out until 11pm tonight, but kept the boys home from school today anyway. Probably not necessary, nor a particularly good idea; I think we’re all getting a little excited, and Fortnite and TF2 don’t help.

It’s all been cleaning and vacuuming, today. We’ve dismantled and moved a few items of furniture, to make some space for the family who will be house-sitting for us.

First leg is Air New Zealand to Shanghai, with just two-and-a-half hours to change planes for Swiss to Zürich.
